The site that has only the area of approximately 55 square meters sits in the downtown dwelling area of the small city block in Tokyo.
The narrow site is facing the small alley that people only go through almost.
We tried to get more living space effectively in the small building, by putting circulation spaces less as much as possible.
In the whole volume of the small building, the internal spaces that have the different ceiling heights are stacked vertically, and are linked by spiral stair directly without a corridor.
The most important family living area including kitchen and dining space is placed on the upper part of the building, results to getting openness thanks to enough ceiling height and thanks to natural light from roof window.
In the lower part of the building in which bed room, play room and sanitary space are placed, in order to be able to live comfortably among the limited space, we tried to create fluidity of the internal space by providing void in horizontal and vertical direction around the stair, and by providing openings in many directions.
Between the upper and the lower part, the loft space finished by lauan plywood is installed also being linked by spiral stair directly.
Active and joyful atmosphere is brought, by the various vista in response to dweller's position around the void.
The facade formed by lines of the roof, eave, railings, eaves ceiling and wall made in different angles is designed to look different shapes in response to pedestrian's position.
