The house is located in the park buffer zone in the garden city of Podkowa Leśna near Warsaw. Although the city was founded in 1921, after only 60 years it was fully entered into the register of monuments thanks to its specific urban planning based on concentric streets-alleys around the railway station (designed by Antoni Jawornicki).
The plot is located on the edge of the city and is surrounded by old trees. The location of the building was proposed in such a way as to preserve the existing trees and direct the guests' eyes directly to the huge oak tree growing on the axis of the entrance. The form of the building is composed of three cuboids, two of which create comfortable living zones and the technical area on the ground floor, and the third provides a "hanging" roof structure over the living room and the entrance area. The night part protects the residents from the side of the only neighbor, and the living area opens views of the park in all three other directions. In the spacious living room, glassed on all sides, the ceiling almost levitates, supported by only one column, which carries the steel roof truss.
The old trees that surrounds the plot ware inspiration for the facade made of Siberian larch preserved with fire using the Japanese Shou Sugi Ban method. This process is traditionally used on cedar or larch wood. The charred layer on the surface of the wood protects it against moisture, fungi and insects.
