Starting for a conceptual proposal included in the Lisbon Architecture Triennale with the theme "House in Luanda - patio and pavilion”, the theme describes itself as an space that lies in the imagination of anyone.
Privacy and strong relationships is suggested within an outer space covered by a lightweight structure that allows in this case, accommodating a single-family housing program proposed, within very restricted areas.
The combination of the two patio and pavilion elements is the key to a housing program, for families between 7 and 9 persons, with 100m2 of gross floor area.
The front street assumes the actual boundary of the plot, and arrival point of the housing unit. The house was divided into three elements, which as a module, combine the house private and social spaces, functionally managing the program.
The geometry of the cross generates the largest circumference possible in the definition of five spaces geometrically equal and interconnected, enhancing the flexibility of connection between elements.
Constructively an economic and sustainable solution was sought, that could take advantage of some craft techniques of construction, recycling materials such as cargo pallets, earth (adobe), poles, corrugated iron and scrap of grass.
It is proposed a bioclimatic building with cross ventilation and solar orientation optimized, panels shading the facade elements with higher sun exposure.
