A contemporary two storey front extension to a rural property, this striking property has been tailored to our clients and their young family.
The brief requested open plan living and a more modern architectural language for the extension, while the existing building would have a facelift to complement the new design. From our early discussions with our clients we soon understood that they were excited about contemporary architecture and keen to experiment with materials, allowing us to incorporate ideas such as up and over timber roofs, intermingled with eternite tiled roofs, painted brickwork, hit and miss brickwork, and external sliding timber screens.
The spaces inside are open, light and bright, however we have been conscious of overlooking, and have incorporated various screening methods to maintain privacy.
