The land previously located a house in a serious state of degradation, stressed by a misaligned axis to the outside in relation to the surrounding buildings.
There was an attention to follow the construction axis of the existing urban fabric, but the road was indeed very busy.
We resorted to implement a house abut to the West, freeing space on the East-side for access to the property, space which will be lived and will have a strong relationship to the house that will be only developed on the ground floor. Given this, the house will only have a relation with the interior and with the land to the North.
A central patio, limited by a water mirror, marks the main entrance to the house, a connecting area that demarcates the private area, comprised of an en-suite bedroom, bathrooms and two bedrooms; and the social entertainment area, consisting of a kitchen, study and sitting room that will extend onto a second shaded patio, which will work as an extension of these two spaces.
The service areas, such as the utility room, toilet and storage are concealed in the dead zones resulting from the alignment of the interior chambers.
The street elevation is concealed, marked only by a single access gate, disguising the house within its surroundings.
The use of simple predominantly white finishes, brings light into the inside, whilst the concrete and the wood distinguish between the interior and exterior areas.
This house represents the pinnacle of functionality and practicality, combined with commodity and privacy.
