A NEW HOUSE IN AN OLD ENVELOPE.
The typology of the existing building is characterized by the presence of two distinct structures, with substantially different construction and historical features.
The medieval stone walls are a solid and precise envelope, characterized by the superimposed presence, of openings of different eras, from the XIII° century.
The internal recent structure, grows over four floors and is characterized by precarious works, executed in the first half of this century (1934).
The total demolition of the recent internal structure has allowed to create a more essential and rational construction, concrete-face view, inserted in the ancient medieval enclosure. The theme is the one of the house in the house. We create a new equilibrium, characterized by dialogue between the two structures, strong and precise, which interact with each other in a game of overlap, lights, materials and sounds.
