The two-story house covers a surface area of nearly a hundred square meters. Starting from the disperse surroundings, an elongated building was erected directly on the building line in the north-east. It is oriented towards the garden in the south and towards the agricultural zone in the west.
The architecturally dominant feature is a wooden structure that is detached from the ground in that it rests on a concrete base. Staggering the building created exterior spaces of different character between the enclosure and the core. They are used as sitting areas and garage whilst serving as a spatial extension of the interior spaces. They provide additional intimacy, similar to a filter between the house and the neighborhood.
The building with its generous, multiple glass surfaces on the southern facade includes two stories. The central area of the house is the hallway, which features a staircase to the second floor. Here the wooden ceiling of the first floor is discontinued across two case bays, allowing the space to extend to the full height of the building and thereby to connect the upper and lower stories.
The open-plan hallway marks a boundary in terms of use, separating the living space on one side and the kitchen with dining area on the other side.
The wooden structure was executed as a timber frame construction with visible wooden beams, and the pre-grayed facade in silver fir was realized as narrow vertical boarding. At the openings in the north and south, the facade was continued and every other wooden batten notched in order to create a demarcation towards the neighborhood.
