. The existing building was build in1960-1970 and was bought in 2008 by a young married couple. They were searching for architects with a fresh look on architecture hoping to renovate and change the appearance of the lately purchased house. The young couples dream was to create a modern house where function would meet their everyday living needs. The internal organization is related to its initial plan divided between five different levels. The basement is dedicated for technical and boiler rooms. Ground floor will serve as an office for the small business that the couple is running. The office has a separate front entrance and it is connected by an internal staircase with the first floor living room. Since the main entrance leads to the office, an additional external staircase was added to ensure a direct entrance to the first floor where the living room and kitchen is located. The bedrooms and bathroom are on two mezzanine stories accessible through the internal staircase. The bathroom size was changed to fit a decent size bath tub that is flush with the floor level. Opened minded clients and their confidence in KILKORO architekci skills was very important in the designing process. Although the first design meeting was a shock for them they went through with the whole process. The final outcome based on simple form without necessary details and modern materials finally made them change their mind and agree to KILKORO architekci concept. For the external finish architects proposed white render and HPL boards. Thanks to the new cantilevered vestibule and external staircase in HPL shell the building received its new light proportions and its proper scale. The clients are very satisfied with the final effect. They are looking forward to moving in the new building to a space that fits their needs and distinguishes itself in the neighborhood.
