The works on this single-family dwelling in Camden principally comprised of the demolition of the existing rear extension and construction of an enlarged single-storey extension to be used as a bedroom for one of the client’s children. This was built in white rendered blockwork with an overhanging ‘flat’ green roof surfaced with selected wild flowers. During the replacement of the original extension, the existing single-glazed rear kitchen window was replaced by a double-glazed sealed unit incorporating k-glass and argon gas so as to improve the security and thermal insulation of the property. The works also included the formation of a new front and rear dormer and the replacement of the existing concrete tiles with natural slates.
