The intervention consists of the internal redevelopment of a mountain house in Piazze, a little village close to Bedollo. The project involved the revisiting of the internal spaces to improve them from a functional point of view and at the same time give them character and atmosphere by working on materials and detail solutions. From a planimetric point of view, the old staircase that led from the center of the living room to an open mezzanine has been demolished and moved in order to create a clear distinction between the living area and the sleeping area with a service bathroom. To characterize the spaces, we worked on the internal casing by covering walls, floors and ceilings with larch boards. The only exceptions are the bathroom completely covered in stone and the room where it was possible to preserve the wooden structure of the existing attic, painted white so as to mark the difference between old and new. Finally the satin stainless steel kitchen creates a counterpoint in the living space completely covered in wood.
