A discreet yet dramatic intervention in a spectacular sloped site overlooking the lake. Compact family house; a weekend getaway from Mumbai. The fan shaped house manifests a journey from the 'Material' to the 'Spiritual' as the house takes us from a solid stone masonry wall, to brick, to glass, to the open vista on the lake and valley. The reverse sloped roof with inverted beams dissolves from the frame of vision... the house does exist... only the vista on the expanse of the lake and the valley. The design is enhanced by the high skills of the exposed coursed basalt and random rubble masonry.
The project was slected among the 100 Architects of the year at the UIA KIA annual exhibtion.
