The dismantlable, house at Ketti valley, is perched on a steep mountainside of the Nilgiris in a narrow strip of land of tea estate with views to the valleys below and at the Upper Bhavani biosphere. While designing on a challenging terrain with an average slope of 20 degrees, our design approach was to respect and work with the land. Apart from this, all elements in the building are fixed together with nuts , bolts and screws. With a dismantlement structure, the building not only can be shifted from place to place, but also reused and recycled easily.
