Design Methodology.
In the gestation of this house, we decided to establish a practical and playful guide to steer the concrete client needs. It is based on establishing an operational area delimited by a square of 15 x15metres, a 225 sq m surface. Understanding that the program covered 150 sqm reaching all the habitation needs connected to the client’s budget equation ($ / m2). This delimited area should be transformed into an unorthodox container not only to meet the basic needs of housing , but also to hold a garage for one vehicle plus the idea of generating a hidden access. All these Data needed a processing step. How would be those remaining 75 sqm in terms of surface colonization? How to distribute that program? laundry areas, garage, main entrance were the blurring areas .Including these parameters, we managed to resolve a great gesture access, where the function of holding the car is casual allowing a playful surface area in direct contact with the neighborhood life. The results of our intervention include a courtyard with a geometric relation 1-1 ½. Thus occurs a proliferation of views that breaks with the typology of "container house'' of 4 facades that consolidate perimeter. Producing a theatrical sequence and generating visual stages was a fundamental premise set by the team. Thus “the promenade” was a consequence of these thoughts. The inhabitant reaches the main entrance after going around the perimeter of the courtyard. Once He is there opening the door, the visuals start being projected through the house directly to the gardens understanding the whole dimensions of the space. Our intention was to make a neutral container with the natural materials working perceptually from the inside to the outside of the house. Everything is for discovery , nothing is given. Following the theatrical discourse, a stone wall acts as a curtain that delimits the home desktop and the main access from the most intimate part of the house in contact with the gardens. Thus we took the gray and orange from the palette of the stone to radiate that colors to the internal facades.
