Music is the shaped time (in contrast to architecture that shapes the space). Music can be experienced only with the time itself. Due to that, by definition, music has to have rhythmical structure of its own raw material (tones). Therefore, the hotel in a pine tree forest, on the coast of The Baltic Sea, has been framed as an object of wavy rhythmical levels, which, like a pine tree, dance in the wind, streaming towards the vertical.
According to the plan, the existing structure is enriched with a metal one, increasing the size of the existing room dimensions, thus satisfying the required room size regulated by the plan.
Apart from the rhythm, music can also be shaped by the melody (the arrangement of different tone pitches) and the harmony (the simultaneity of certain tone pitches).
The melody and harmony of our architecture is achieved by the attempt to visually adjust to nature and environment.
Because of that, our facade has been framed as multi-layered and ventilated, with the final workup of facade panels, which have the color of the Baltic pine tree, as well as glass panels of high reflection, depicting the pine tree forest and the sky. That is how the existing object becomes integrated into the surroundings of the wood, the sea and the vast plain.
The precise definition of music is not possible. Music is not necessarily made by man, especially if we take into account the singing of gulls, the sounds of the waves and the forest, as well as the similar sounds coming from the hotel`s surroundings, that is nature.
Carefree whistling, the sounds of the locomotive movement and tuning of instruments represent other examples where any attempt to create a strict limit between music and „non-music“is not possible. All this is part of the planned „hotel of music“.
All the materials used in the construction of the hotel would be ecologically justified and suitable for recycling. As for the sustainability of the object itself and its energetic efficiency, measures have been taken so that all the advantages of the climate could be fully used. In accordance with that, large generators of electric wind power are being installed on the roof of the hotel. Namely, they would use the wind energy and satisfy the needs of the object to a certain extent by means of the obtained generated electric power. Furthermore, solar panels, which would satisfy the need for hot water, are also being installed on the object`s roof. All the roofs of the hotel are green, increasing the energetic efficiency of the object.
