The concept is to raise the
new program off the gound and out it in the sky like a FLOATING GARDEN. This
gesture makes an iconic statement which makes the hotel immediately
recognizable and a new landmark for the area. Advantages of raising the main
new programs off the ground include unobstructed views of the ocean and a
panaromic view of the area. In the FLOATING GARDEN are communal rooms and
restaurants for all the hotel guests and local residents to enjoy. The
structure has a separate access structure which allow it to accept guests
directly from the ground floor lobby to the new structure so that they don't
have to distrurb the hotel guests.
