"LA PLAGE-Casadelmar" is above all a seaside story : a forgotten beach , an abandoned hotel hidden in a rough
and preseved setting.
Unlike Casadelmar where the breathtaking view strikes you at your arrival, the discovery of Benedettu is
progressive, with glimpses to the main terrace overlooking the beach, a sandy cove opened on the Gulf of Porto-
Vecchio, bordered by pines and red rocks.
The aesthetic choices, the furniture, the surfaces evoke the returning from the beach and its usages, the mat on
which one has rested, the sand remaining on the feet, the beach cabin in time-worn wood, the shells that were
found... Braids, meshes and matting presence recalling the summertime crafts.
From the entry a carpet of sand runs to the terrace and draws a path to the beach through the reception areas.
The lobby, bar and restaurant are volontary very dark, like a shelter after a sunny day. This explains the use of lava
stone cladding surrounding these spaces and framing openings to the sea view. These places are dedicated to
late afternoon rest.
The mismatched furniture from several periods are the tribute of the clever mix of a holiday house where you store
all the different objects brought from different trips and family furniture piece...
On the terrace the view takes all the attention and requires no gesture. Some orange spots tease the sea deep
turquoise blue. The different levels of terrace follow the natural setting, among pines, bording the sand, leads to
the beach bar, under the shadow of large sails. The pool, setback is treated as a large overflowing water tank, the
sound of a fountain for the restaurant situated aside.
Back from the bustle of the beach, small paths lead to hidden villas, a hamlet integrated in vegetation. The rooms
and suites are radically different from reception areas, brighter and more simple, the essential is present without
effects. These places are quiet and delicate, where pastels tones remind the work of sun on bright colors. Some
pieces of furniture are made with a wood worn out after staying decades in water. The only precious note is the
« mother of pearl » mosaic in the bathrooms, a memory of a day spent at the beach ...
