Located in the heart of the tourist center of Benidorm, this Building has a very rigid program of needs. A relatively small plot of land for this type of building allows the construction of a 22 story high tower whose layout and distribution completely responds to the functional requirements that a hotel of these characteristics imposes and the correct orientation of the greatest possible number of romos.
The geometry and depth of the balconies, allow shade on the rooms for most of the day with a considerable improvement in energy efficiency, generating savings in consumption of up to 10% and reducing the temperature of the interior spaces by summer between 2ºC and 6ºC.
Externally, each floor is surrounded by three large circular volumes that encompass the balconies of the rooms, generating a soft and friendly geometry that embraces the entire volumetry of the building and highlights its slenderness.
The small size of the plot makes the common leisure and swimming pool areas almost impossible, which have been located on the roof of the building, transforming in this case a problem into a virtue. The pool on the 22nd floor dominates the Benidorm skyline, creating one of the most special spaces in the city.
It is the height projection of the curved element that gives the building a unique personality in an environment filled with hotel buildings where the functional requirements of this type of buildings make it really difficult to build a City.
For more than 15 years, critics like Mark Davis or masters of architecture such as Rafael Moneo and Rem Koolhas have invited us to reflect on the danger that the economic pressure of the market is forcing architecture itself into increasingly extravagant conditions. especially in high-rise construction. We have the firm commitment to continue fighting for unique proposals, which at the same time build city far form new temporary trends.
