Playa del Carmen, Mexico
This hotel is located in Playa del Carmen in one corner of La Quinta Avenida –the main avenue of the city- and it´s integrated by six commercial locals on the street level and 15 rooms distributed in the first and second level. It is known for its unique architectonic design and the bold use of materials.
At the entrance, the users go through a spectacular 14 meters high lobby, dominated by an 18 meters long apparent concrete wall. This amazing lobby connects all the architectonic elements of the project. Horizontally, you can find the stairs and the access, and vertically, the whole structure is unified.
Conceptually, the project is an exercise of combination and appliance of recycled materials through minimalist parameters. The materials and installations are used and placed in a way to show its essence and purpose.
