The Infectious Diseases Clinic at Panevėžys Hospital – a modern step towards more advanced healthcare
High-quality healthcare begins with a responsibly designed, functional and modern infrastructure. Our team has contributed to one of the most important healthcare projects in the region – the Panevėžys Hospital Infectious Diseases Clinic. This new five-storey building is being constructed in accordance with the highest medical, hygiene and sustainability standards, in line with modern European infectious disease hospital practices.
The modern, five-storey clinic with a basement will be built next to the existing Panevėžys Republican Hospital. It is planned to cover a total area of approximately 7,000 m² and will bring together all the most important functions for the diagnosis, treatment and care of infectious diseases.
The clinic will have an emergency department, a haemodialysis unit, a tuberculosis treatment department, a diagnostic centre, a laboratory, an operating theatre, intensive care rooms and isolation wards. This solution will allow the entire treatment process to be concentrated in one place, which is an important step in ensuring effective infection control, rapid patient flow management and more convenient work for medical staff.
Great attention is being paid to the highest standards of hygiene and safety. Negative pressure ventilation systems with special filters will be installed in the clinics to ensure that dangerous microorganisms do not enter the environment or other parts of the building. Surfaces that are easy to clean and disinfect are also being designed, and the layout of the premises allows for a clear separation of clean and contaminated flows.
Importance for the region
This clinic is not just a new building, but also an investment in people’s health. It will significantly increase the availability of services for residents of the Panevėžys and Utena counties, strengthen the region’s ability to manage outbreaks of infectious diseases, and ensure a rapid response in emergency situations.
