The intention of the project for the Hotel of Villafranca de los Barros is to create an rapprochement between the earth and the town. It uses the idiom of the traditional way of building in this region of Spain, Extemadura, with its witewashed wals, red rooflines and courtyards. At the same time, it seeks to be part of the landscape, with its red clay, olive groves and vineyards. The hotel has been 'molded', like the red clay, and becomes a transition between the buildings of the town and the surrounding landscape.
