Have you ever found yourself stepping into a tech flagship store even without any intention to shop? That impulse is no coincidence.
Today, what draws people into a store goes far beyond products. It may be an engaging experience, a moment of resonance, or even an immersive glimpse into an ideal future lifestyle. In such a context, the role of physical retail is being redefined—transforming into a place for meaningful connections between brands and users, where the possibilities of future living quietly unfold.
This shift raises the bar for brands: functional experiences, emotional resonance, and seamless services must evolve in tandem to build long-term relationships beyond transactions.
Against this backdrop, the HONOR Flagship Store in Shenzhen Bay offers a compelling response. As the first milestone of the HONOR ALPHA PLAN, the space is conceived as an “AI-driven smart living lab,” where moments of surprise, sensory engagement, and playful discovery form the very core of the experience.
Built on the elevation of strategy, experience, and relationships, the project redefines retail beyond transactions, evolving into a new interface that builds connections, fosters deep resonance, and generates lasting value through ongoing engagement.
PART 01
Upgraded Strategy
A Dialogue Between Technology and Nature
Rather than leaning on futuristic or even sci-fi interfaces to project a “high-tech” image, the HONOR flagship store at Shenzhen Bay centers its narrative on the seamless fusion of technology and nature—departing from what tech retail stores commonly embraced in the past.
“Traditional tech spaces often feel cold and lifeless. Our goal was to break that stereotype by weaving nature into the design,” explains HONOR Retail Design Studio. The location itself—Shenzhen Bay—became a source of inspiration. “Where Mountains and Sea Converge: A Bay of Technology” emerged as the project’s guiding concept.
Along the shoreline, where sky and ocean weave into a living canvas, the store’s 43-meter curved glass facade comes into view—the longest of its kind in the industry. It unfurls like an undulating wave, echoing the distant mountains and refracting light, revealing the subtle interplay between technology and nature.
More than an architectural gesture, the facade echoes the “water” imagery of Shenzhen Bay and brings a sense of technological warmth—gentle, inclusive, and open. It dissolves the coldness often associated with tech spaces, while symbolizing the openness and extensibility of AI technology.
Inside, a 45-square-meter immersive screen becomes the centerpiece on the ground floor. Flowing water motifs intertwine with the Alpha logo, articulating brand identity while creating a sense of spatial extension—a feeling of “space beyond the space.”
Across the display area, HONOR’s signature products, along with projectors, smart cameras, digital stringless guitars, smart luggage, and other intelligent devices that span every facet of daily life, are carefully curated to present a holistic vision of smart living.
A sculptural, double-height spiral staircase anchors the space. Its continuous curves rise gracefully, shaped through a large cantilever structure wrapped in metal, balancing structural rationality with organic softness. Around it, water features, bird sculptures, and greenery form a miniature landscape—an artistic reinterpretation of Shenzhen Bay’s mangrove ecosystem.
“From the cascading waterfall installation to the nautilus-inspired spiral staircase, we sought to bring the rhythms of nature into a technological context,” the team notes. “Materials, lighting, circulation, and displays converge to create an immersive lifestyle setting where nature and technology coexist.”
Beneath the spiral staircase, the eye traces the sweeping curves upward, where natural forms and engineered structures intertwine. Light, shadow, and the shifting sense of scale gradually unfold, creating a fluid transition between the two levels.
The project embraces an elevated strategy—shifting from a purely technological expression to a seamless fusion of tech with nature and human experience. It is not opposed to nature, but its extension. This cross-dimensional dialogue creates a truly unique spatial identity that embodies HONOR’s human-centric philosophy.
PART 02
Elevated Experience
AI-Powered Multidimensional Lifestyle Scenarios
On the ground floor, nature sets the tone, offering a glimpse of the warmth behind technology. Moving upstairs, the experience unfolds across multiple dimensions, showing how AI integrates into daily life. This elevated experience focuses on breaking boundaries—both physical and perceptual—to dissolve the perceived gap between “high tech” and everyday living.
Everyday life scenarios—home, work, entertainment, and creation—are woven naturally throughout the space. Lighting systems adapt dynamically to scenarios, documents stream fluidly across multiple screens, and creative workflows transition smoothly between devices. With no extra learning required, everyday actions effortlessly activate intelligent features, integrating technology seamlessly into life.
“Traditional tech showrooms often focus on teaching users,” explains the HONOR team. “We wanted technology to be part of everyday life. It activates intuitively when needed, supporting a healthier, more convenient way of living.” This shift from teaching to immersion elevates the experience, creating moments of surprise.
Moving into the YOYO AI Agent experience zone, AI comes to life through human-like interactions. Four immersive screens showcase YOYO as a life assistant, creative partner, task manager, and emotional companion. YOYO remembers user preferences, executes tasks across apps, tracks daily life, and supports creation. Its decision-making logic is visualized on the screens, helping users understand how AI thinks.
“AI shouldn’t be a black box,” says HONOR Retail Design Studio. “Through visualized interactions and contextual scenarios, users can see how AI thinks. It transforms perception from curiosity to trust, from mere use to companionship. This is the true elevation of experience. Technology shouldn’t feel distant—it should naturally become part of everyday life.”
In the immersive AI Future Living area, a digital environment presents a vivid vision of AI-powered living, giving users a tangible sense of how AI empowers daily life.
Along one side, a smart manufacturing display area reveals the R&D and production chain with full transparency. Technology is no longer a mysterious engine of productivity, but a clear, continuous journey from the laboratory to everyday life.
“The stronger the technology, the gentler it should be. The more capable AI becomes, the more simply it should blend into everyday life,” says the HONOR team. Here, AI is no longer a distant showcase on a pedestal—it becomes a companion in the everyday rhythms of home, work, and creative activities, responding intuitively to actions, growing with user needs, and extending the experience from feeling to understanding. It embodies a cross-dimensional dialogue between technology and life, offering a truly elevated experience.
PART 03
Redefined Relationships
Community-Driven Connection and Co-Creation
In today’s retail landscape, emotional connection has become a core driver of brand value. A purchase is no longer the end of a transaction—it marks the beginning of a long-term relationship between the brand and consumers. Buying a product, in a sense, signals a feeling of belonging and an affinity for a shared way of living. This evolution in brand-consumer relationships is exactly what the HONOR flagship store captures.
“The future of retail is not merely about selling—it’s about building relationships,” says the HONOR team. “By introducing an intimate social lounge, an open salon space, and modular displays that adapt to diverse scenarios, we aim to create touchpoints for people with varied interests and needs. Technology is not the end goal, but a medium for dialogue. The space isn’t static—it’s a living organism that grows and evolves with the community.”
At the far corner of the second floor, where the view opens up, a home-like social lounge unfolds. Soft lighting, warm wood textures, and an enveloping layout create an intimate living room atmosphere. Here, conversations naturally extend beyond products; technology becomes a medium for shared lifestyle experiences; and community bonds take shape through like-minded interactions.
On the ground floor, an open social area integrates a café setting with water features and natural light, shaping a relaxed, welcoming environment to pause, chat, or linger. With a central digital screen, the space can also transform into a stage for community events, shifting flexibly from casual gatherings to idea exchanges.
The DIY customization area invites hands-on participation, encouraging customers to explore creative products and engage in diverse activities like workshops.
The service center on the second floor reimagines after-sales support. An open service desk replaces the traditional counter, transforming consultations and demonstrations into participatory experiences. Here, technology services are no longer reactive, but an active catalyst for interactions and connections.
Rooted in community-driven operations, the store also introduces the concepts of innovation workshops and inspiration markets. Users are encouraged to contribute ideas, co-create content, and shape how technology evolves. Reconfigurable display platforms and co-creation tables offer high flexibility, allowing the space to adapt to different themes and events—growing continually with the community.
This is not a place to showcase what has been achieved, but an invitation to imagine what can be created next together. With a flexible, ever-evolving environment, the store opens up possibilities for ongoing co-creation between HONOR and its community, where relationships take shape, evolve, and move to the next level.
PART 04
Future Retail
Reconnecting Technology with Everyday Life
Whether integrating technology with nature, crafting immersive experiences, or fostering emotional connections, the flagship store’s core mission is ultimately about bringing technology back to its essence—serving people. This belief also underpins the HONOR ALPHA PLAN.
As an “AI gateway to the city,” the store breaks away from traditional retail logic. Through three elevated dimensions—strategy, experience, and relationships, it transforms cutting-edge technology into tangible everyday capabilities, bringing AI out of the lab to solve real-life challenges and foster emotional connections. Each technological breakthrough here becomes a warmer, more convenient daily experience.
From a broader perspective, this world-class AI ecosystem flagship store—situated in the heart of the Greater Bay Area and at the forefront of global technological innovation—brings together creative forces and connects global perspectives. It not only embodies the cultural confidence and technological prowess of a next-generation Chinese tech brand, but also stands as a shining landmark at Shenzhen Bay in a global context.
