Phase 1Designed by James Wyatt and Robert Adam, the Grade I Listed buildings had been unoccupied since the late 1980s and were on the Buildings at Risk Register.
Feilden+Mawson led the restoration of the buildings and the design and conversion work to create one of London’s finest new clubs. Work included installation of new kitchens, lifts, bathrooms and bedrooms, disabled access provision, the conservation and restoration of the fine rooms, re-roofing, detailed fire strategy, re-servicing and suppression of dry rot.
Phase 2 Feilden+Mawson designed and led the extension of the Home House into the adjoining No. 21. This Grade I Listed house has been reworked comprehensively internally to provide gym and spa facilities in the basement, reception rooms and catering facilities on the ground and first floors and residential suites and offices and conference facilities on the second and third floors respectively. In this phase Feilden+Mawson designed a modern take on the classical original in contrast to the earlier phase, with an emphasis on authentic décor and furnishing of the period. This also incorporated a fluid organic bar designed by Zaha Hadid.
