STATUS
Concept
SIZE
25,000 sqft - 100,000 sqft
BUDGET
$5M - 10M
Located near Santa Barbara California this campus of buildings is designed to house light industrial users and hi-tech businesses. Sponsored and owned by the local municipality the project will provide rental revenue to City's Municipal Airport and provide much desired space for small start-up companies. A simple material palette of board-formed concrete, corrugated metal siding and corten steel detailing about glazed apertures and skylights reflect the contemporary nature of the user community. The design is sensitive to the public face presented to the community along a busy thoroughfare, creating a park-like garden that will retain and filter rainwater runoff in this sensitive flood zone. Between buildings a system of modern "Paseo" entryways make rainwater gutters and landscaped filtration basins a feature of this drought tolerant "eco-sensitive" development.
