The root of this building is from the sculptural concrete buildings along the shores of Lake Balaton from the 1970s, although not numerous, are a unique jewel of the built environment.
The orientation is clearly defined by the location of the site. The southern side of Honvéd street is an internal road between Balatonlelle and Balatonboglár with all the traffic, from cyclists to trucks.
The northern side is a narrowing, sandy area of Balaton and the Virág beach with beach goers and vendors. The entire northern area is occupied by the living room stretching along all three apartments. On the ground floor, the living room is directly connected to the kitchen, reading room and bedroom. In the two-storey unit, the ground floor kitchen and the upstairs gallery are integrated
in one space with the living room. Smaller windows have been installed on the south side to avoid overheating in summer.
The building is an exciting play with form. It is not intended to follow today's trends and it does not fit into the existing architectural canon. It takes the direction of the more experimental and daring architectural quest of the 60s and 70s. The non-traditional form of the building gives you the opportunity to make associations.
It also tries to suggest an openness towards both architects and clients of our time. The cottage form of the house is an alternative to the glass-framed cube house. The responsibility of architecture as is the strongest among the different art forms. While contemporary painting can be avoided if you don't go to museums or galleries and contemporary literature can be avoided if you don't go to bookshops or libraries – architecture is something you come across all the time. It has a way of getting to everyone.
