Until today Hölick Sea Resort, located on the Swedish east coast north of the city Hudiksvall, has been a traditional camping-site. The site has magnificent qualities, situated in the archipelago adjacent to wide sandy beaches, rocky shores and endless pine forests. The camping owner has a long-term plan to transform the site into a place for relaxed, simple but qualitative living and leisure.
Hölick Sea Resort is a total concept of living, food, services and experiences, including lodges, footpaths, bridges, lighting and signage, yet keeping a feeling of privacy and a direct encounter with nature. The area is planned for 22 houses of two different types of 80 and 90 m2. The first lodge was built in 2010, while lodge No 2 was completed in the fall of 2012.
As its predecessor, lodge No 2 is inspired by the former tents on the camping. It is as well a wooden construction, connecting to the strong local wooden tradition, however with a so-called faltak roof, traditionally found in the Baltic island of Gotland. The subtle and homogeneous wooden exterior subordinates to the surrounding pine forest. Although small in size, the interior is spacious with a double height and generous living area. The light trickled through the branches of the pines plays over the light wooden surfaces creating a constantly shifting atmosphere. With its two bedrooms and a loft, and open kitchen-living area it is a perfect hideout for friends and families who like to enjoy the sand dunes and dramatic troll-forest of Hölick.
