The proposal for the sculpture puts Hobbemaplein on the map, not just with a new century artwork on the plaza, but also as a framework for the existing works of art and the trees, which make them stand out better.

Thus a work of art in itself but also a backdrop for other works of art; an introduction of the human scale because one feels secure here by the enclosed character. Because of this enclosure, you will find seclusion from the busy Haagse on the Hobbemaplein market and traffic; tranquillity as a quality for those residents of the neighborhood that we spoke with explicitly mention this during the neighborhood meetings this summer.

A unifying sculpture that frames and defines the square. This one Lemniscate form, an eight-shaped curve, symbolizes unity and infinity. This appeals to the imagination: the Hobbemaplein as a connector for the various neighborhoods.
