With an area of 36,600 ㎡, this Hilton is located in the new convention and exhibition zone of Bao’an District, Shenzhen, and is adjacent to Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, which is the biggest of its kind in APAC. As the only landmark directly connecting with the Center, the hotel is the third under Hilton Hotels & Resorts in Shenzhen.
The designer conceives the theme of “carrying on the past and opening a way for future” in combination with cultures about shipping, exhibition, and the ocean. Alternatively displayed blocks, local Chaoshan and Lingnan cultures, and elements like containers and sails are used to build a modern and magnificent international hotel as well as a bridge for global communication and connection.
The interior design values both beauty and practicality. Sofas and long tables in the lobby lounge can be either combined or scattered to meet the requirements both for business meetings and leisure gatherings. Inspired by a propeller spinning around in sea water, the artistic pendant lights weaken the sense of distance of the 8.85-meter-high ceiling while enhancing the quality of the space. Curved wall surfaces take cues from “ship sails” and also look like stacked containers. Orderly layered blocks enrich the architectural language and add a touch of interest and art to the space.
