The hotel is located in Chongqing, a famous mountainous city in China. Designers use modern techniques to translate the natural and cultural landscapes of the city. "Mountain, Water & Bridge" are taken as design elements, and beautiful sunrise as the color scheme-- blue & gray of the morning fog are used as the main tone, while orange and light yellow of the sun the accents. Hence, an artistic urban business hotel with natural and warm ambience is created.
To fit the building’s "Landscape" concept, designers draw on the montage technique of video art, telling the story of colors, movements, lights & shades in a chronological way. With numerous mountains and rivers, bridges are essential in Chongqing, thus it is also known as “the City of Bridge”. To celebrate that, shapes of bridges are used in the FF&E and artwork design. The idea of hotel wall and screens originates from curves of stone layers in the Three Gorges, while water patterns on the stone floor and carpets add a touch of flexibility into the space.
Traces of arts manifesting the urban hotel’s peculiar aesthetics are everywhere. Through a modern sequential way of presentation, the core-wall structure made of metal, wood and stone reflects the magnificent beauty of the local landscape. Walls in the ballroom and fitness center resemble the palisades, while marbles with ink textures are applied in the guestrooms of gray and blue tones, both of which embrace the great natural beauty of the city. In addition, the specialty restaurant features the theme of "Stone & Flower Romance". Lamps there take the shape of stones looks warm and bright, while the antiquated bronze ceiling is extremely rich in texture. Through the changes of colors and materials, the whole place is of great charm.
