The existing building is located at 1200 m above sea level at a small hill, the so called “Bühel” and was extended to the east on the property below. The expansion building is positioned in the north of the property, in order not to restrict the existing structure in it’s use, with regard to visual relations and solar radiation. The asymmetrically positioned saddle roof also cleverly cleans the rooms in the existing building and reacts simultaneously to urban conditions. The extension extends over 6 floors. In addition to the 20 new rooms, a wellness area and a restaurant extension were also planned. The extension is understood by the architects as "continuing works" on the old building. So what has been proven and what is spatially good was maintained, and used only where it is necessary. The existing structure remains intact and at the same time is undergoing an upgrade
