highVIEW jetty is a guest house for retreat, an existential suspension between ground and sky, being and imagining
Just off the brow of the hill, nestled between 2 significant trees standing sentinel overlooking Chifley Dam, O'Connel is 120m2 of family holiday indulgence for 10 people... raw and simultaneously sophisticated; compact yet generously spacious; protective yet environmentally engaged; experimental, yet rooted in the simplest of building technologies and materials.
HighVIEW Jetty is a deliberate exploration of these principles, together with experiments in materials and creative deployment of standard construction systems. The end results is a delightful rural cottage appropriate even to the “high end” tourist accommodation market.
