STATUS

YEAR
2016
SIZE
100,000 sqft - 300,000 sqft
A LEED Platinum-certified development, Higby provides a refined living experience in the heart of historic Southwest Berkeley, close to the Oakland border. With one and two bedroom units and inviting common areas, Higby creates a place that is both home and a gathering space. Higby provides modern amenities such as a roof deck, bocce ball, and areas for pets, in combination with retail tenants such as a yoga studio and has accessibility to endless nearby cultural activities.
For sustainability purposes, the roof and courtyard rain water are diverted to filtration planters before entering the storm drain system. One of the planters is located in the lobby and there is a vegetative roof on a portion of the 2nd floor deck, made up of locally sourced and recycled content materials including 97% post-industrial recycled content flooring.
