The hexagonal shape
is inspired by the light-weight molecular structures exhibiting high strength
to weight ratios. The form tapers and
expands in order to optimize the structural performance and programmatic needs.
Two hexagonal shapes
are used to create a hexagonal truss.
Housing and offices spaces are allocated within the
hexagons - while the majority of the services are accommodated in the bridging
service beams.
A circulation system
with elevators, high-speed funiculars, escalators and elevated walkways provide
quick transportation through the city. A glass skin consisting of solar
cells together with wind farms properly allocated in the 3dimentional shape of
the building are used to generate the majority of the electrical needs for the
city.
Hexa City is designed with great spatial flexibility, allowing property
versatility and adaptation to the quickly changing demands of the market.
