DIA revitalises city library into future-orientated meeting place
After a two-year restructuring phase, Heilbronn City Library now shines in new splendour and has become a place with a strong identity that stands for lifelong learning, high-quality information and personal interaction.
The starting point for the refurbishment was the changing reading and communication culture and the desire to transport the city library into the coming decades with a modern appearance. Located in the centrally located "Theaterforum K3" cultural and shopping centre, our architects have found an answer to today's requirements for knowledge transfer and hybrid usage options:
Around 3,500 square metres spread over two floors offer ample space for both quiet and communal areas, multimedia learning, events, as well as office and meeting rooms. An integrated children's and youth area with an online programme, games and magazines is an experience for the whole family, bridging digital and analogue worlds. The library fulfils an important social and cultural function by providing a platform for interaction and networking for the wider public.
