Opening its doors in 2008 with a ceremony presided over by Queen Elizabeth II, Terminal 5 at London's Heathrow Airport as quickly become one of the world's premier international airline travel hubs. Catering to more than 35 million travelers every year, Terminal 5 is also the United Kingdom's largest freestanding building, with over 65,000 square feet devoted to executive "Galleries" lounges. In creating these spaces, London based designeers David Davies and Stuart Baron wanted to complement the building's modern aesthetic while maintaining the comfortable elegance for which British Airways is known.
