FabUrb is a project that captures the ongoing image constructions which accompany the current developments of New Cairo and New Damascus in its multiple physical and representative layers. The exhibition is comprised ofthree distinct moments: A textual wall with extraction and reconstitution of all the textual descriptions from mass media that accompany the “visions” for New Cairo and New Damascus; eight large scale panels of collages that project the visions of “utopia”—from advertising and renderings produced by developers and investors; a series of animated films that analytically explains the social, economic, and political forces that shape the current Cairo and Damascus.Collaborated with Ying Zhou and Samir Kordy
