The 3M house by destilat is a holistic concept - from the shell to the dining table, everything comes from a single source.
On Linz's Pöstlingberg, surrounded by unspoilt nature, destilat has built the 3M house on a plot of land sloping steeply down to the Danube.
The uniqueness of the site, the nearby edge of the forest and the magnificent view over the Danube valley were an essential part of the design concept. Following the topography, the building is stepped in half storeys and thus blends skilfully into the terrain. The staggered levels create different room heights, which, supported by selected surfaces, characterise the cosiness of the house.
The noble scratch plaster with an earth-like colouring chosen for the façade underlines the individual character of the house.
It contrasts with the white colour scheme throughout the interior of the house, which gives the exposed concrete body an elegant appearance.
The soffits of the cantilevered roofs of the carport and terrace were finished with white glazed spruce boards, which give the open spaces a special feel.
The floor was kept light in several work steps with trowelled and sanded white cement.
In addition to selected design classics, designs by destilat were primarily used for the furnishings.
The kitchen and the dining table 4 to the Floor were designed by destilat and combined with Tom Dixon lamps. The result is a house of palpable homogeneity and clarity.
