Haukeland University Hospital brings together expertise in children and adolescents. The project is organized in two phases and KHR has been working on it since 2006.
The first phase is the child and adolescent psychiatry building, which covers 28,000 m2. With a holistic focus, the hospital houses facilities for play, exercise, and physical development, which are an essential part of the hospital concept.
The framework for the hospital supports an environment across disciplines, research, and teaching by providing a good and functional environment for patients, carers, staff, and students.
The second phase of the project is the somatic part of the children's and adolescent hospital, which also houses a women's clinic for pregnant women. The hospital is setting new standards in this area and phase 2 is the first fully digital hospital project in the world where both design and site work are completely paperless. Phase 2 is expected to be completed in 2023.
