The Haskell residence is situated in the Oakland hills with panoramic views of the Oakland hills. Located on rolling hills, the slope of the site was one of the major design concerns. The solution was to provide split levels and locating the garage at the lowest level. Stairway leading to the main floor then up to the upper floor to the bedrooms. Windows facing North and South take advantage of the views of the green Oakland hills. Retaining walls on the west site of the residence are designed to provide outdoor living spaces and are protected from the hot afternoon sun.
