This refurbishment of a 30 year old apartment building right at the port of Auckland was executed within a tight budget. We at Stephenson&Turner Architects chosed the fluid softness of the water ripples as the general theme set against the harsh contours of the given building. An elegant lobby opens the entry and enriches the streetscape. Its wrapped into white marble covering ceiling, wall and floor. A contrasting brown ebony leads inside. Softly moulded fibre glass balcony soffits and frameless glass balustrades further enhance the visual upgrade of the building which otherwise might have been demolished.
