The project is guided by the core design concept of "Contemporary Translation of Quancheng Cultural Heritage and Academic Ambiance," rooted in the regional cultural genes of Jiyang District, Jinan City. Drawing inspiration from the red brick texture and sense of order characteristic of academic architecture, it creates a spatial environment that integrates humanistic warmth and a relaxed vacation atmosphere.
The design adopts the traditional form of "scholarly courtyards and connecting corridors," using red brick as the foundation and arches as a consistent architectural language throughout. The continuous arcades at the ground level echo the imagery of Jinan's "gushing springs," forming a transparent and open public interface. The grand arched entrance serves as both a visual anchor and a ceremonial space, evoking the ambiance of a "hall of knowledge" through warm internal lighting. The regular window grids of the upper-level volumes extend the rational order of academic architecture, creating a dialogue between rigid structure and softened curves at the lower levels.
Simultaneously, the architecture employs "water mirrors" as a medium, utilizing reflective surfaces along the waterfront to dissolve the heaviness of the building's mass. This allows the red brick texture to blend with natural light and water reflections, preserving the tranquil character of academic spaces while aligning with the relaxed vacation attributes of a holiday hotel. Ultimately, the design achieves the goal of "using architecture as a medium to foster the coexistence of cultural memory, place identity, and vacation experience," injecting a new landmark of accommodation into the region that combines humanistic texture with an international perspective.
