Haikou Cloud Office Space
Haikou,China
Perched atop the Haikou China Resources Tower, the Haikou Cloud Office project offers sweeping views of the vast ocean and the urban landscape below. Guided by principles of comfort and texture, our design employs warm, tactile materials to create a workspace that merges practical aesthetics with spiritual rejuvenation.
Floor to ceiling windows flood the interior with natural light while framing a 270° panoramic vista of the Qiongzhou Strait—where the sea and sky blend gently at the horizon. Every moment spent working here immerses occupants in the relaxed and soothing ambiance of island life.
Upon entering the Haikou Cloud Space, the Lobby area greets visitors with a beige dominated palette, evoking a sense of warmth. Natural and artificial lighting intertwine artfully, while wood grains and stone layers merge under shifting shadows, cultivating a soft and inviting atmosphere.
The reception area embodies warmth and comfort. Guided by the island’s natural illumination, visitors are intuitively drawn into this zone. A symphony of textures unfolds: breathable pores in the limestone floor, crisp lines of stainless steel bookshelves, and the gentle touch of natural birch veneer and textured paint.
As daylight shifts with the weather, the outdoor scenery plays out in silence, while indoors, a tranquil and harmonious atmosphere nurtures relaxed interaction.
The pantry and reception area form a fluid, light responsive layout. The panoramic windows frame ever changing urban and island views. Concealed lighting gradually warms in tone with the sun's arc, seamlessly transforming tropical daylight into a soft, indoor glow.
A floating marble island introduces an understated volume, gently guiding visitors toward the aquatic landscape, where layered greenery, cascading water, and dappled light compose a fully immersive healing space.
The design breaks away from traditional enclosed layouts, reimagining the genetics of “flowing space.” Open workstations, meeting units, and social islands interweave into an organic network, enabling seamless collaboration and spatial permeability. Employees can effortlessly shift between open and private modes, adapting to diverse situational needs.
The meeting area redefines decision-making spaces through “light” and “sound.” Sound-absorbing panels embedded in the walls enhance acoustic performance while serving a functional role. Minimalist carpeting provides an additional layer of noise reduction, fostering an environment conducive to inspiration and focused thought. Graduated glass partitions soften rigid spatial boundaries, while raw wood textures and metallic accents compose a rational, tactile aesthetic.
By reconfiguring spatial order and integrating acoustic gradient design with the dynamic noise reducing effect of greenery, the design allows individual focus and team collaboration to coexist in flexible balance. This is not merely a place to work it is a place that continually stimulates creativity.
Walls soft as moonlight, natural travertine floors laying a tranquil foundation, a marble feature wall with ink splash veining resembling a three dimensional landscape painting an aquarium with swimming koi forms a lively visual barrier. A floating tea table emits wispy steam, interplaying with a gradient mist light overhead, culminating in a serene space where Eastern philosophy meets modern aesthetics.
The softness of beige textured paint harmonizes with the organic breathability of wood veneer, while cool marble introduces a crisp, defining edge. Light drifts between floating display shelves, highlighting textures in brightness and concealing subtlety in shadow. Within the muted calm lies an understated poetry.
The core value of this office space extends beyond visual appeal and functional design—it lies in its deep consideration for people. As the boundary between workplace and nature continues to blur, this project stands as an exploration into the future of office spaces, a potential new form: no longer a cold machine, but a spiritual field that offers security and warmth while inspiring innovation and creativity.
