The proposal is situated in the rocky, hillside in the outer suburbs of Limassol, surrounded by the endless tranquility of the majestic area, with uninterrupted views towards the seaside.
The dynamic and direct morphological and programmatic composition of the proposal, reconfigures accordingly with the diversity of the existing topology of the broader area.
The horizontal tectonic “flow” of the proposal, projects from the rocky hillside of the proposed plot towards the horizon, allowing access from the house to road level below.
At this level, one comes across the entrance of the house where the living areas are located, surrounded by sliding glass surfaces, where endless views are in direct relation with the outdoors. Depending on use, the reconfiguration of the sliding glass surfaces within the structural stone walls, make possible the dynamic unification of the living area with the broader external landscaping.
This dynamic reconfiguration, erases the “transitional boundaries”, allowing for natural light, shadows and broader surroundings, as well as program to interact, generating a new hybrid space.
This function at ground floor level, allows for natural air flow, as a tool for cooling the internal spaces. Views are provided towards the swimming pool and the broader area as well as the seaside in front.
On the upper level of the proposal, where the resting areas are located, the external envelope projects like a “collective camera”, capturing multiple images of the endless blue horizon.
The sliding wooden louvers depending on use, reconfigure the façade of the proposed house, reacting as a tool for filtering natural light in all internal spaces, transforming shade and light according to different timeframes.
The “strict” morphological and programmatic composition of the proposal, reconfigures and repositions the broader interaction between form, function, environment, in direct relation with the human factor.
