Suburban corporate office building, design centre, showroom and production/shipping facility for a high end corporate office manufacturing facility. The client wanted the design to reflect the importance of design and his high quality product that he sells. The roof design is reminiscent of the curved mansard rooflines common in many European cities built during in the 17th century 'French Baroque' and the Second French Empire of Napoleon III during the mid 19th century. Standing seam metal roofing was gently curved over a plywood substrate to provide the basic form. Dormer window features were also fabricated from metal to provide continuity of material and colours. Complimentary wall detailing was easily attainable using reveals and build-outs on the EIFS wall cladding system.A two storey entrance foyer features two curved staircases under a painted sky 'tromp l'oeil'.The building was a 2006 finalist for the BOMA Canada National Award and the Toby and Earth Award for best suburban office building in Calgary.
