This project involved the intervention and revitalization of a 200 m² single-story home. The property, inherited by the clients from Mrs. Arcelia Chávez —mother and mother-in-law, respectively— represented not only a physical space but also a deeply rooted emotional and symbolic legacy.
The main commission was to transform the old rear laundry patio into a new terrace designed for gathering and relaxation. To achieve this, a flexible space was created, featuring a retractable roof that allows the terrace to function either as an interior or exterior area, depending on the user’s needs—strengthening the connection between domestic life and the outdoors.
In addition to this new social area, the project included the full restoration of the original plaster finishes, a complete kitchen renovation, and general maintenance of the entire home. These actions aimed to preserve the architectural essence of the house while giving it a renewed, contemporary identity—both functional and livable.
The intervention was conceived with respect and sensitivity, acknowledging the emotional value of the property and responding to the clients’ desire to honor their family history while adapting the space to new ways of living.
