The Guan Sports Arena is a 6,000 seat multi-function arena designed primarily to accommodate basketball and gymnastics. The program also consists of a 8-lane 50 meter racing pool, dive platforms, training/ recreation facility including 3 basketball courts, 3 tennis courts, 4 vollyball courts, 12 badminton, 14 table tennis, fitness center and retail. Guan Arena was designed to create a civic icon for the new town community of GuAn City. As an integrated sports, recreation and cultural complex the goals was to create sustainable community resource with quality public spaces and design features with clear wayfinding and quality of experience. The main arena soft organic form celebrates nature in a formal park setting.
