The scope of the Project is the design of the VIP Lounges and the Sky Boxes of the west wing of Aslantepe Stadium, which is built in 2011 for Galatasaray Sports Club, one of the oldest and top three soccer teams in Turkey.
The Project covers a total indoor area of 5500 m2 , including a VIP Lounge, a Presidential Lounge, and 51 Sky Boxes in three different sizes.
The project is designed in collaboration with SDB Architecture.
The interior design project is aimed to fit in the architectural statement of the structure and to sustain even further its neatness and clarity throughout all inner spaces. A timeless design is proposed, strongly reflecting the institutional identity of the Club. The colors and the logo of the Club are used as important design tools, without overdoing; but instead, incorporating and integrating subtly with the rest of the design features. The whole project is designed to be bald, sportive and dynamic in its every detail, while being functional, durable and safe for an excited crowd of soccer fans.
The VIP Lounge has an open buffet/bar system to accomodate 1500 persons simultaneously, providing a first class catering service during the halftime breaks. The tables and the chairs of the lounge are designed and produced exclusively for Galatasaray Club. The implemetation of the Project is completed within an exceptionally short period of time such as 15 weeks.
The dynamic effect of the concrete columns of the architectural structure, large glass windows and mesh ceilings are balanced by the warm oak parquet floors. The grey tones of the interiors are lightened up solely by the elaborate use of the Club colors of red and yellow.
The logo of the Club is placed throughout the Project in various interpretations, reinforcing the Club identity. The red and yellow, -colors of the Club, are employed in varying combinations of narrow bands on dark grey walls or concrete columns. The colors are used consistently as a design tool to emphasize and underline the team spirit, without overwhelming the interiors.
Sky boxes are designed in sizes between 18-24 m2 to host 18-20 persons each. Besides the games, the boxes are considered to be suitable for other occasions like business meetings. Each box has a simple and clear interior design to serve comfortably the different needs of a large variety of clientelle. The owners of the boxes are allowed to place their own names/company logos on the entrance doors. The identity of the Club is reflected with the large scale logo relief on the wall of each box. The boxes are designed as soothing and serene spaces to cool down the excitement and the high tension going on in the field.
Along the corridor leading the players from their lockers towards the field, the colors of the Club and a large scale ruler inscribed on the floor are used as basic elements of design. The graphic illustration of the colors of red and yellow on the walls, symbolizes the increasing tension of the players as they walk by and the ruler inscribed on the floor reinforces the feeling of approaching to the the field by each step, altogether serving to increase the motivation of the players to their peak.
