The 1833 Blauvelt House located in the Greenwich Village Historic District, New York, NY. Originally built as a two-story home with an English basement, the house will be reconstructed at the rear to take advantage of the full width of the lot. The stair will be replaced with a traditional townhouse stair, allowing light to pass through from front to back. The renovated single-family house will spread out on all four floors, with generous glazed openings to the rear yard, balconies and roof. Drawing inspiration from the house’s humble origins, the interiors explore a mix of traditional and modern design.
