This new leading-edge center for advanced manufacturing technologies supports education, research, and entrepreneurship while training a highly skilled workforce. The 106,000 SF facility is the first building on a new International Style satellite campus, and is designed to both establish a distinctive architectural character and serve as a visual icon of modern manufacturing. The facility was designed to minimize disruption to the sloping site adjacent Long Creek, and the elevated pedestrian entrance bridge serves as an analogy to the Owner’s mandate to bridge education and job placement

In addition to instructional spaces, the facility features prototyping space for manufacturers and incubator space for start-ups. Other program areas include offices, conference and breakout rooms in a variety of sizes, and an open learning commons to engage visitors and students. High-bay manufacturing spaces accommodate equipment such as mills, grinders, lathes, CNC routers, and 3-D printers (additive and reductive) with adjacent low-bay space for materials storage. Specialized labs include mechatronics, manufacturing pilot line/integration, innovation labs, and research space. A showroom provides a space to highlight student work and emerging technologies.
