This home which was recently featured in the Homes Section of the Austin American Stateman Green houses can be luxurious, was designed for a large lot in the country half way between Austin and Dripping Springs.
The clients, Alan and Tanya Green, were very environmentally friendly and wanted to build a straw bale house. The project was completed in conjunction with Gayle Borst of Stewardship, inc. in which we did the primary design and construction drawings.
Green features abound in this very unique residence, including stained concrete floors, rainwater catchment system, Ipe wood deck, Pella wood casement windows, antique mexican interior doors, mesquite hardwood floors, and a saltwater pool.
Although, the house was never rated through the City of Austin's Green Building Program, it would easily attain a five-star rating.
