The idea is to combine a collection of local materials, both natural and handcrafted with modern architecture. This particular fusion between local and natural values and world architecture technology, open the scope for flexible geometries and rich transparency layers and textures. A series of sophisticated spatial features integrate nature with an elegantly casual built environment that is yet unseen.
This new "palapas" have a dynamic and innovative shape. The roof materials are basically inspired in the traditional homes, although the geometry of the laminated wood structure is radically modern. Double curved surfaces that turn into a subtle floating shell are extended to produce shaded areas around the main roof.
